EASTON, Conn. – Joel Barlow’s girls basketball team aims for its second straight upset in the South-West Conference tournament when it meets Pomperaug at 6 p.m. at Weston High School.
Sixth-seeded Barlow (14-7) upended No. 3 Newtown on Saturday, 58-54. Brittany Dumas scored 21 points to lead the Falcons while Brittany Shea added 12.
That set up the meeting against No. 2 Pomperaug, which advanced with a 63-39 win over Kolbe-Cathedral in the quarterfinals.
Pomperaug defeated Barlow during the regular season, 64-56, to end a seven-game winning streak for the Falcons. Lauralton Hall meets Masuk in Tuesday’s other semifinal. The winners advance to Thursday’s championship game at Masuk.
